No visit to Ontario is complete without experiencing the Bruce Peninsula National Park, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and one of Canada's most breathtaking natural destinations. With its turquoise Georgian Bay waters, towering limestone cliffs, and lush forests, this park is truly a Natural Disneyland for hikers.
Your adventure begins with a short stop at Inglis Falls, where the 18-meter cascade of the Sydenham River tumbles dramatically over the Niagara Escarpment, a perfect warm-up for the day ahead.
Next, we head north to the Bruce Peninsula, hiking the 1 km Georgian Bay Trail to the stunning Halfway Rock Point, where rocky shores and panoramic bay views make for unforgettable photos. Continue to the park's crown jewel, the Grotto, a spectacular sea cave carved into the cliffs, with crystal-clear waters below. From here, follow the Marr Lake Trail past the tranquil Boulder Beach, looping back to complete a perfect 4-hour exploration of the park's highlights.
Enjoy a half-day of moderate hiking through scenic forest and rocky terrain. Trails are well-marked, and most sections are easy to moderate with some uneven footing near cliffs. Expect incredible coastal views, refreshing lake breezes, and plenty of photo stops. Swimming or wading is possible at some beaches (depending on conditions), but the water is famously chilly even in summer!
