This tour showcases the best of Muskoka's rugged beauty and relaxed summer atmosphere, combining hiking, viewpoints, waterfalls, swimming opportunities, and local flavours.
We begin at McCrae Lake Provincial Park, where a ~6 km hike leads us through forests and granite terrain to the impressive Eagles Nest viewpoint. From this elevated lookout, you'll enjoy sweeping views over the surrounding landscape, a classic Muskoka scene of rock, trees, and water.
Along the route, we'll also visit McCrae Lake Falls, where flowing water and smooth rock formations create a great spot to pause, take photos, or cool off. Throughout the hike, there are multiple access points to the lake, making it easy to stop for a swim, relax in the sun, or enjoy the shoreline.
After the hike, we'll shift gears with a visit to Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery, where you can sample local wines and seasonal specialties and enjoy the peaceful farm setting. This stop offers a nice contrast to the active portion of the day and a chance to unwind and recharge.
Our final destination is Hardy Lake, featuring a ~5 km loop trail that winds around calm waters, rocky shores, and a small picturesque island. This area is ideal for a slower-paced walk, with plenty of scenic viewpoints and excellent swimming spots. You'll have time to swim, relax by the water, or simply soak up the Muskoka sunshine before we begin our return.
This outing is designed to balance activity and relaxation, with plenty of flexibility to enjoy the water, scenery, and laid-back Muskoka vibe.
