Step off the beaten path and explore a lesser-known provincial park on the Bruce Peninsula, offering scenery similar to Lion's Head but with fewer crowds and some truly unique highlights.
Our day begins at Greig's Caves (admission included), a family-owned conservatory featuring extensive caves and dramatic rock formations shaped thousands of years ago. Movie lovers may even recognize parts of the scenery from films shot here in the 1980s. Running or hiking shoes are required for entry to the caves.
After a short drive, we'll begin our hike, descending through natural Niagara Escarpment forests toward the rugged shoreline near Cape Dundas. As the trail opens up to Georgian Bay, the landscape shifts to exposed rock, clear water, and dramatic coastal views.
Along the shoreline, we'll pass a few hidden swimming spots where the bravest hikers can take a quick dip in the cold, crystal-clear waters of Georgian Bay. One of these scenic spots will be our lunch break, before completing the loop and returning to the van.
On the drive back to Toronto, we'll make a relaxed stop at Jones Falls, one of Owen Sound's lesser-known and quieter waterfalls.
If weather or trail conditions are unfavorable, the program will be adjusted accordingly to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
