Discover one of southern Ontario's most iconic coastal landscapes at Killbear Provincial Park, located on a rugged peninsula stretching into Georgian Bay near Parry Sound.
This spectacular park is known for its exposed pink granite ridges, crystal-clear waters, quiet coves, and the famous windswept pines clinging to the rocky shoreline. Our day begins with an easy ~800 m lighthouse loop, introducing you to the area's shoreline scenery and wide-open bay views. From there, we'll continue on a ~3.5 km hike along the View Point Trail, where you'll be rewarded with sweeping panoramas of Georgian Bay, dramatic rock formations, and endless horizons, a photographer's dream.
After the hike, those who wish can join a short optional trail, or simply unwind. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax on Killbear's sandy beaches or explore the rocky shoreline, swim, sunbathe, or enjoy the calm rhythm of the bay.
During our beach time, we'll have a charcoal grill set up. Feel free to bring food to throw on the grill, a fridge will be available in the vehicle to keep things fresh. This outing blends gentle hiking, breathtaking lake views, and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy nature at your own pace.
